Thavidorammal Ajith of Kakkattil, who carried the liquor, ran away from the scene after seeing the officials.
Kozhikode: As many as 150 bottles of liquor were seized at Kakkattil town in Nadapuram on Monday. The seizure was amid the election-related checking, jointly carried out by Nadapuram excise range and Kozhikode excise intelligence wing. The liquor was illegally transported from Mahe.
Thavidorammal Ajith of Kakkattil, who carried the liquor, ran away from the scene after seeing the officials. A case has been registered against him. According to excise officials, Ajith was previously held in a liquor trafficking case.
Illegally transported liquor from Mahe is widely sold to agents at Kakkattil market. Excise Preventive officer K.N Rimesh and civil officer Pramod Pulikool were part of the team.
