CPI demands repoll in Anantapur

Mr Ramakrishna urged the Election Commission to cancel the polls for Anantapur Parliament and Tadipatri Assembly constituencies.

Vijayawada: CPI state secretary Ramakrishna claimed TD leader J.C. Diwakar Reddy stating that he spent Rs 50 crore during the recent elections in the constituencies where his sons were contesting, adding that Rs 2,000 for each vote was distributed to the voters.

Citing these details, Mr Ramakrishna urged the Election Commission to cancel the polls for Anantapur Parliament and Tadipatri Assembly constituencies.

He said that the distribution of money to voters was immoral and contrary to the norms of Election Commission. He criticised TD chief N. Chandrababu Naidu and senior leader J.C. Diwakar Reddy for decreasing the value of politics. Mr Ramak-rishna demanded the Election Commission to cancel polling in Anantapur and Tadipatri if the claims of Mr Diwakar Reddy are correct.
