Cops want to know where S Ve Shekher is

Shekher had brought this misery upon himself when he shared a despicable Facebook post on women in media.

Chennai: The cybercrime wing of the Chennai police has registered a case against actor-politician S.Ve. Shekher for posting derogatory remarks on women journalists in response to a woman scribe's anger against Governor Banwarilal Purohit for patting her cheek at his press conference.

The police, however, said they were unable to locate Shekher, who had switched off his phone and was not available at his Mandaiveli house, through Sunday. “We are trying to trace him”, said an officer.

Amid media reports that he had gone underground to evade arrest until obtaining an anticipatory bail from a court, Shekher told Thanthi TV in an interview that he had not gone underground and was only away in Bengaluru on some private work. He would be back at Chennai in three days, he has said.

Shekher had brought this misery upon himself when he shared a despicable Facebook post on women in media.

He deleted the post when huge criticism erupted all-round and his own party frowned upon his insensitive act. But his withdrawal did not impress the hurt journalists and they lodged a complaint with Chennai Commissioner A.K. Viswanathan, who ordered the cyber crime wing to investigate.
