Karimnagar: Inter results give cheers to many, maths plays spoiler

Suhasini said that the pass % of students of Intermediate course was increased by 2 % when compared with the previous year's results.

KARIMNAGAR: The district showed slight improvement in intermediate II year results which were announced on Friday. However, the position of the district has dropped to seventh place from the previous fourth place in the state. Regional Intermediate Officer L. Suhasini disclosed the results to pressmen here on Friday.

Ms Suhasini said that the pass percentage of students of Intermediate course was increased by 2 per cent when compared with the previous year’s results.
The district achieved 58 per cent pass in II year and 47 per cent in I year. The district’s performance has enhanced when compared with last year’s pass percentage, following strict monitoring on junior colleges.

Karimnagar was placed at seventh position in Intermediate II year and fifth place in I year results in the state. A slew of measures are being taken to improve the performance of the district further, Ms Suhasini explained.

A total of 37,247 general and 3, 907 vocational students appeared for the II year Intermediate. Out of them, 15,903 were boys and girls accounted for 21, 344. Similarly, 38,168 (general) and 5,187 (vocational) students turned out for I year Intermediate examinations.

It may be recalled that the district had secured 56 per cent pass in Intermediate II year and 51 per cent in I year results in 2014-15 academic year. It had bagged fourth position in II year and six place in I year in the state last year.
