Ravideep Sahi takes over as SZ command of CRPF

HYDERABAD: Ati Utkrisht Seva Padak and police medal winner, additional director general (ADJ) Ravideep Singh Sahi took over as the command of the south zone central reserve protection force (CRPF), Hyderabad, here on Thursday.

In his 37 years of service in the force, Sahi has held various senior positions and has handled critical assignments in strife-torn Jammu and Kashmir, Chhattisgarh and NE states, according to a CRPF release.

On deputation to the Lok Sabha secretariat as joint director (security) in 2002, following the attack on Parliament in December 2001, Sahi was instrumental in upgrading the security apparatus at the parliament house complex. He has the distinction of serving as IG Srinagar sector for the longest period from December 2016 to March 2020, where he enhanced operational excellence.

A sports enthusiast, Sahi represented CRPF in the Himalayan car rally in 1995 and in the tennis team during the all-India police tournaments.
