Agitation leader Suresh Keezhattoor's house under attack
KANNUR: Unidentified people stoned the house of Suresh Keezhattoor, leader of Vayalkilikal, the group leading the anti-bypass protests in Taliparamba, in the wee hours of Thursday. "The attackers came on on bikes," Mr Keezhattoor said.
"Such steps will not deter me from leading the agitation." Addressing a press conference, he said the CPM should be ready to take action against those burnt the protest venue and attacked his home.
"The party that led the agitation that saved Aranmula fields (from an airport project) is trying to divert our protests politically," he said. "It's from that agitation people like us imbibed the spirit. So It is impossible for CPM to act against our struggle. We will accept supports of all including RSS and SDPI." On the statement of CPM state secretary Kodiyeri Balakrishnan that it was RSS workers who had attacked his house, he said he was trying to lay a political trap. "We will not jump into such traps," he added.
