High Court orally observed suggesting both Vijay Mallya and banks to propose a solution on the one-time settlement by April 4.

Bengaluru: The High Court on Wednesday adjourned the appeal by United Breweries against the order of the single judge bench to wind up the company.

The court orally observed suggesting both former liquor baron Vijay Mallya and the banks to propose a solution on the one-time settlement by April 4. Mallya had earlier said he was ready to negotiate with banks to pay a one-time settlement on Rs 9,000 crore.

Stay on HAL unit lifted: In a major boost to the helicopter manufacturing unit of Hindustan Aeronautics Ltd at Bidarehalla Kaval in Gubbi taluk of Tumakuru, the High Court on Wednesday vacated a stay on land acquisition to set up the unit.

Expressing apprehension over the acquisition of lands for the unit, several farmers had approached the high court following which the court had stayed the proceedings.
