Chennai: Asserting that the DMDK is aware of its strengths and vote bank, DMDK founder Vijayakanth's wife Premalatha said 'captain' will make an appropriate decision on alliance and announce it in a week's time.
Contending that there is been no hitch in talks with the ruling AIADMK, she said it was the media that was using the term hitch in talks but there was no such thing.
"Everything is progressing smoothly. You will get an official announcement soon - maximum one week," she said when asked about the alliance talks with the AIADMK. When a reporter asked if there were any hitches in the parleys, she shot "it is you who is using that word. There are no hitches at all. We know our strategy and strengths and we are considering them to take a good decision."
Asked if it the DMDK is bargaining for more seats than allotted for the PMK, Ms. Premalatha who is the party treasurer, shot back, "there is no need for us to compare with others. We know our strengths and vote bank. We will get the se-ats based on our strength."
When asked if the DMDK would contest the same seats that it had in 2014, she replied, it can't be said now.
"The number of seats and constituencies will be announced by the leader," she added.
