Shuhaib murder case: Strike till CBI takeover of case
KANNUR: Congress leader K. Sudhakaran will continue the hunger strike in front of the collectorate till the state government announces a CBI probe into the murder of youth congress leader S.P. Shuhaib. The decision was taken at an urgent UDF meeting held at samara pandal of Sudhakaran, here, on Thursday. Though Sudhakaran had earlier declared a 48-hour hunger strike, on Thursday, the fourth day of the agitation, he announced that the strike would be extended.
Meanwhile Vanjeri Ravi, father of Akash Thillankery, claimed that both Akash and Rajin Raj, arrested by police for the murder, were innocent. Both of them were in the temple when the murder took place, he told reporters here. "They were arrested when they went to the police station after they were called by police", he added. "We were advised to prove our innocence in court", he added. Meanwhile the court remanded both Akash and Rejin in connection with the earlier murder of RSS worker Vineesh.
