Hyderabad: 191 minors booked in one day

Hyderabad: A special drive against persons using earphones or cell phones while driving and those driving without licenses was conducted at various schools, junior colleges and degree colleges in the city between 7 and 10 am on Thursday morning. The vehicles of the persons caught indulging in these malpractices were detained by the Hyderabad Traffic Police. Charge sheets will be filed against the offenders.

191 cases were booked against minors for underage driving, 73 cases were booked for the use of earphones or cell phones while driving, and 155 cases were booked against persons driving without licenses. The city traffic police have started conducting these special drives to curb underage driving and dangerous driving, which are rampant in the city. Drives are being conducted in the areas Tolichowki, Asifnagar, Malakpet, Kachiguda, Falaknuma, Charminar, Bahadurpura, Rajbhavan Road, Necklace Road, Nampally, Goshamahal, Sultan Bazar, Bahadurpura, Mirchowk, and Nallakunta. 45 persons were caught driving without licenses in Sultan Bazar.
