Hyderabad: The calendar for the Telangana Tourism department is quite packed for the coming year.

After the successful International Kite Festival, IFFA, being the Theme State at Surajkund Mela and the Medram Jatra, the Tourism department is now focusing on hosting the Amsterdam-based youth festival, “Sensation India 2016”, on March 5.

“This is a first for Asia. Sensation will perform at Gachibowli Stadium. There will be music, dance, fireworks and other events by a 1,000-member troupe. We expect 50,000 people to attend the popular international show. The theme of the show is white and everyone should come dressed in white,” said tourism secretary B. Venkatesham.

Telangana tourism, in public-private partnership, has chalked out a year-long itinerary of cultural, literary and other shows in Hyderabad and other parts of the state. “We are finalising a yearlong calendar of events in Hyderabad and other parts of state. We had the International Kite Festival from January 14 to 16, Book Fair in December-January, Medaram Jatra or one tribal festival in February, IFFA festival in February and going ahead we will have the National Photography Festival in August, Buddha Purnima in either May or October, Bathukamma festival in October and Sky Fest in December,” Mr Venkatesham said.
