Telangana Legislature to become paperless in 3 months
Hyderabad: The Telangana Legislature comprising the state Assembly and Legislative Council will become 100 per cent paperless within the next three months. Legislature Secretary Dr S. Raja Sadaram told DC on Monday that the Legislature would become 50 per cent paperless from the Budget session in March and the process would be complete by the next session.
In the two-phase computerisation programme of the Telangana Legislature, starting March, all transactions from the Legislature to legislator, ministers and heads of government will be computerised and half the existing paperwork will be dispensed with. All communications and services from the Legislature will only be delivered over emails.
For the second and final phase of the computerisation programme, desktop computers will be installed at all Members’ seats, both in the Assembly and Council, by the Monsoon session. Members will be able to browse questions and other legislative business on the computers installed at their respective desks. Not only during the session, but information flow from legislator to Legislature, ministers and heads of departments will also be digital.
