Hyderabad: Father Adolfo Nicolas visited the two Telugu States after he took charge as Superior General of Jesuits in 2008. He arrived from Rome on February 19 at Vijayawada airport and visited Andhra Loyola College. He visited Hyderabad on February 22.
Fr Nicolas addressed the staff and students of Loyola Academy at Alwal in the city on Monday. Later in the afternoon, he took part in a meeting at Montfort Social Institute in Ramanthapur, where he met all the provincials of South Asia in a conference. Fr Nicolas was the rector of the Novitiate in Tokyo (1991-1993), Professor of Theology at Sophia University (1971-1973), director of the Pastoral Institute in Manila (1978-1984), provincial of the Jesuits in Japan (1993-1999) and from 2004 to 2007 served as the president of the Jesuit Conference for Eastern Asia and Oceania.
