Nellore: Rotolok Valves opens plant in Sri City
Nellore: The first manufacturing plant of Rotolok Valves, a subsidiary company of the UK-based Rotolok Holdings Ltd in India was inaugurated at Sri City on Monday. Sean Swales, group manager, Rotolok Holdings, declared the production plant open at a colourful function at Sri City on Monday.
Founded in 1972 and incorporated in 1973, Rotolok has the ability to manufacture all key bulk solids handling equipment. It is one of the leading manufacturers and suppliers of a broad range of products including rotary airlocks, diverter and slide valves, big bag systems, conveyors and discharge units among others.
All these products are used for tough duty applications in various industries, such as chemical, food processing, mining and minerals, offshore oil and as pharmaceutical and power energy.
Rotolok Group employs nearly 250 people worldwide with over 28,000 square metres of space in 11 locations, trading with 68 countries.
Mr Sujith Thomas, senior adviser, UK Trade & Investment, senior executives of Rotolok units in other parts of the world and a host of invitees took part in the event.
Mr Prasanna Veeraraghavan, general manager, RVPL, initiated the ceremony with a warm welcome.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr Sean Swales said, "Inauguration of our new Indian manufacturing facility at Sri City marks a new chapter in Rotolok's history. The investment made at this site in machinery, equipment and people will allow our great British design and quality standards to combine with competitive Indian manufacturing costs to produce rotary valves and other bulk handling equipment of superb value."
Mr Ravindra Sannareddy, managing director, Sri City, said, "This event marks the start of Rotolok's 'Make in India' journey. As part of Rotolok's on-going global expansion, I am confident that the new unit will be the source of the complete range of solid handling components in Indian market."
The facility, equipped with all the latest CNC machinery, was built-in on a two acre plot adjacent to Alstom company. This highly automated unit employs around 30 persons.
