LPG subsidy still being availed
Chennai: After the Centre decided to cut LPG subsidy to consumers having income of more than Rs 10 lakh in December 2015, various gas agencies in the country have started to issue declaration forms to its customers.
Though authorities in Chennai are claiming to be following government regulations, gas agencies in the city say that they have not being receiving any form submissions.
An Indian Oil Corporation official in the city said that while not every customer is being issued a form, those with income above Rs 10 lakh are expected to voluntarily apply for LPG cancellations online or by visiting their gas agency.
Officials at a gas agency in Nungambakkam, when contacted, said they were sure their customers did not belong to above Rs 10 lakh income category and therefore did not have a chance to distribute any forms.
Another dealer in K.K Nagar said that while they were aware of the new norms they weren’t given any direction and would follow procedures once they received orders.
