KOZHIKODE: The city is set to welcome President Pranab Mukherjee who will inaugurate five major projects, including Government Cyber Park, Uralungal Cyber Park, Gender Park, the Kanivu project envisaged by the Social Justice Department and the Student Police Cadets’ digital literacy programme on February 27.
The President may be escorted to the venue at Thondayad through car from the Karipur International Airport. The security steps in connection with his visit were discussed at a meeting held at Police Club on Monday in the presence of Director- General of Police, Deputy Commissioner of Police and other officials.
Assistant Commissioner of Police- Traffic C. Aravindakshan said, “we had to compromise with the traffic during the visit of the PM to Kozhikode in the first week of February, but this time we are planning to take the President through road from Karipur airport to reduce traffic congestions here.” From Karipur, the President will be taken to the main venue near the cyber parks at Thondayad through bypass, he added.
