Kakatiya University students seek TRS tickets
Warangal: Students of Kakatiya University actively participated in the Telangana agitation leaving behind everything else. But the TRS government is ignoring them even as Osmania University student leaders got enough chances, said KU TSJAC chairman S. Rajesh.
Speaking to the media here on Monday, he said that Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao himself assured the student leaders that they would be given a chance to contest in the local elections so they are demanding the TRS to give the student leaders tickets to contest in the municipal elections.
“During the Telangana agitation, the students let go everything to achieve a separate Telangana state. But they are not getting due credit for their sacrifices. Many leaders from Osmania University got a chance to contest elections and even won, but Kakatiya University students were ignored till now. We were instrumental in forcing legislators to resign and join the agitation,” Mr Rajesh said.
Many students even went to jail and rowdy sheet was opened against them. The students always supported the party during elections by mobilising people and helping candidates during canvassing. Such student leaders should be considered for the elections this time, demanded the JAC leaders.
