Chennai: Computer science engineering graduates stage protest
Chennai: Around 50 B.Ed. graduates in computer science wanted to return their certificates on Monday in protest against the delay in introducing computer science subject from Classes I to X in government schools.
They also demanded distribution of books which were printed under the common syllabus system for Classes VI to X.
Without giving any reason, the state government suddenly withdrew the decision of implementing computer science subject from Classes VI to X, they alleged.
“There are more than 20,000 graduates without jobs. Though we finished B.Ed. course we are not eligible to write TRB exams. If the subject is implemented from Class I level, then we can ask the government to appoint one teacher for each school,” said S. Karthick, vice-president, Tamil Nadu B.Ed. Computer Science Unemployed Graduates’ Association. Later, they met school education director S. Kannappan and explained their demand.
