NITI Aayog to watch states' SDG
Hyderabad: The Centre has decided to directly monitor the implementation of Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) in the states. NITI Aayog has done a detailed mapping of the 17 SDG goals and Centrally sponsored schemes (CSS).
In a letter to TS Chief Secretary S.P. Singh, Mr Charanjit Singh Bhatia, SDGs incharge of NITI Aayog, said the Centre had decided to monitor the performance of states on each goal. The issue would be discussed in the upcoming meetings with states which will be chaired by NITI Aayog members. He sought state government’s inputs and suggestions by January 25.
NITI Aayog has been entrusted with the role to coordinate the SDG agenda for 2030. SDGs have been evolved through an inclusive process for achievement during the period from 2016 to 2030.
