CBI to file fresh plea in 2G scam case
A special CBI court, presided over by judge O.P. Saini, recently acquitted all 16 accused.
New Delhi: After receiving a formal approval from the Union law ministry, the CBI is now preparing to file an appeal in the 2G scam case wherein all the accused were acquitted by the trial court in the High Court.
A special CBI court, presided over by judge O.P. Saini, recently acquitted all 16 accused, including former communications minister A. Raja and DMK MP Kanimozhi in the 2G scam case.
The Union law ministry, sources said, also advised the Central probe agency to file a special leave petition in the Supreme Court challenging the Allahabad high court’s decision in the Aarushi-Hemraj double murder case. The High Court acquitted Rajesh and Nupur Talwar in the double murder case. Hemraj's wife had also moved the Supreme Court last month.
