Hirakhand Express derailment: Nine injured passengers brought to KGH

Visakhapatnam: Nine injured passengers of the derailed Hirakhand express train were brought to King George Hospital (KGH) here where they are undergoing treatment. AP home minister N. Of the nine, one belonged to Burma Camp area in Vizag who works at a private corporate hospital in the city and was returning from Rayagada to the city after attending a personal work. He suffered fracture to his left leg. “I heard a loud sound of sudden brakes being applied. I was clueless and lost senses. And when I opened my eyes am here at the KGH. It’s a miraculous escape for me. I don’t know what happened to my co-passengers,” said Sri-nivas who was travelling in the general compartment.

“We are providing best me-dical facilities to those who were brought here. Everyo-ne’s out of danger and one person is being given some additional attention,” said KGH superintendent G. Arjun.

Senior Railway officials are camping at the site to monitor the relief and rescue operations. HRD minister, Ganta Srinivas Rao and Anakapalle MP, Muttamsetti Srinivas met the injured passengers and assured all possible help.
