Uttar Pradesh: Aadhaar helps rescue crorepati
Lucknow: An Aadhaar card found on the person of a destitute in Rae Bareli district helped in revealing his true identity — a crorepati from Tamil Nadu.
According to reports, an old man lying on the roadside drew the attention of Swami Bhaskar Swaroop ji Maharaj of Angroom school. The beggar was then taken into shelter by Swami.
The helpers at the ashram gave him a bath and an Aadhaar card and a fixed deposit receipt of Rs 1.06 crore was found inside his clothes.
The details of the Aadhaar card were accessed and it was found that the man was actually a rich businessman from Tirunelveli city of Tamil Nadu.
The Swami then informed the family about his whereabouts and his daughter immediately came to the city to take her father back.
The daughter Geeta told the Swami that her father had gone missing during a train journey about six months ago. It appears that he lost his way and also his memory after drugs were injected into him. The Swami said that he was happy that the man had been reunited with his family.
