Disproportionate assets: No immovable property for Rao
Chennai: State chief secretary P. Rama Mohana Rao does not own any property if one goes by the immovable property returns filed by him.
As per the statement of the immovable property returns (IPR) for the year 2015 as on December 31, 2015, submitted to the union department of personnel and training, Mr Rao who was a 1985 batch IAS officer, did not declare any immovable properties in his name.
His wife, Eswaramma, had purchased the plot for the house after selling a Tamil Nadu Housing Board property, which was bought in 1992 by her, for '31 lakh.
“All these details were informed to government in my letter dated April 10, 2006, and necessary permission was obtained from the government to build a house in this property,” the statement said.
In the IPR filed in May 2010, he had mentioned about the construction of the house on the plot purchased by his wife with funding from his son, daughter and wife.
In 2011, he declared completion of the construction in December last year. He had also mentioned about the purchase of 2400 sq ft of land in Anna Nagar Western Extension Scheme of TNHB in Padi Village at a cost of '4.84 lakh in June 2001. The purchase was made by his wife from the disposal of her inherited property in Andhra Pradesh.
