Eid paints Bengaluru green
Bengaluru: Eid Milad-un-Nabi processions organised in various parts of the city on Wednesday, to mark the birth anniversary of Prophet Mohammad, affected the vehicular movement in the Central Business District for some time.
As the city traffic police had made alternate arrangements during the procession, there were no major snarls.
Muslims from across the city too part in rallies, which converged at YMCA ground on Nrupatunga Road. This affected traffic movement on J.C. Road, V.V. Puram, Lal Bagh and surrounding areas, which was immediately cleared by traffic cops.
A senior traffic police official said the police had taken proper measures to divert the traffic during procession. Though there was no traffic jam, vehicular movement was slow for some time in some areas, he said.
