State stays cool to GHMC's infra plan

The GHMC has sent a report to the state government on 15 important pending projects.

Hyderabad: The GHMC proposals on road widening, construction of roads, flyovers and others have been pending at various levels with the state government for months. After several remainders, the GHMC is not able to get permission for these proposals.

The GHMC has sent a report to the state government on 15 important pending projects, including closure of AOC road for construction of an alternate road.
For remodelling and widening of Murki nala at Uppuguda and compensation for properties of Shivajinagar residents have been pending with the state government. So far, the government has not issued any order. At a meeting with state and Central officials on March 9, the state government asked the GHMC to furnish the net land required for construction of alternate roads in lieu of closure of AOC road by the military.

Accordingly, the GHMC sent the details of land required. The military asked the GHMC to submit a detailed project report (DPR) from Safilguda railway gate to RK Puram. The GHMC asked the net area to be handed over to the defence authorities. But there is no response from the state government.

For the construction of a flyover at Rasoolpura junction, the GHMC had asked the government to address the director of coordination, police wireless, of the Union home ministry to to hand over 1.62 acres of land. The government wrote to the Union home ministry but no action has been taken.

The other issues are related to environmental clearance for development of east-west corridor along the Musi River, a skyway in Golconda tehsil of Hyderabad district and Moinabad and Hayatnagar tehsils of Ranga Reddy districts, approval for integrating NFCL-KBR flyover, second level flyover at Road No 45 Junction, elevated corridor and cable stayed bridge at Durgam Cheruvu under Stage-1, flyover at Filmnagar.
