Solar-powered Namma toilets open in Guntur

Entertainment and amusement would be developed in Guntur city like Hyderabad in the coming days.

GUNTUR: Guntur West MLA of Telugu Desam M. Venugopala Reddy said that entertainment and amusement would be developed in Guntur city like Hyderabad in the coming days. Guntur MP Galla Jayadev and Venugopala Reddy started the Alapati Venkata Ramaiah park reconstructed with Rs 50 lakh with AMRUT funds at Koritepadu and further inaugurated Namma bio toilets at Kankaragunta at Guntur on Tuesday.

Mr Jayadev said that two parks would be developed in the Guntur city every year. He said that play items for children, open gym and waling track for elders with greenery available at this park and asked the public to maintain the park without garbage and waste. Mr Venugopala Reddy praising GMC for the park with modern amenities stated that Guntur city will provide entertainment and amusement to public like Hyderabad in the coming days.

He said that Rs 1 crore sanctioned from his MLA funds for Nallacheruvu walking track and soon the walking track construction would be completed. GMC commissioner Ch Anuradha said that GMC prepared plans for the development of parks and pons of the Guntur city with State and Union government funds and will switch Guntur into green city.

She said that the integrated drinking water scheme works will be completed in the next two months. Inaugurating the Namma bio toilets the solar powered Namma (our) eco-friendly toilets are proposed resolve the peeing difficulties of the public in Guntur city. He lamented that absence of public urinals is troubling nearly one lakh people who visit the district headquarter everyday for various works. He added that the GMC primarily decided to start 30 solar-powered eco-friendly Namma toilets in various centres of the city and appealed the public to make good use of the same.
