Rajinikanth makes a sudden visit to Mantralayam sans frills
Kurnool: With the much hyped movie, 2.0, all set to release in 3D at theaters worldwide on Republic Day, January 26, 2018, superstar Rajinikanth is leaving no stone unturned to ensure its success. This includes seeking the blessings of Mantralayam Raghavendra Swamy. Raghavendra Mutt is a famous destination for film makers and heroes and Rajinikanth is no exception. Earlier Rajamouli of Bahubali fame visited the Mutt to pray for the film's success.
Rajinikanth is an ardent devotee of Sri Raghavendra and is a regular visitor at the temple. The movie 2.0, is said to be the sequel to Shankar's Enthiran and fans are waiting eagerly for the film to be released. Superstar Rajinikanth visited and offered prayers at Sri Raghavendra Swami Mutt in Mantralayam on Tuesday. Wearing a silk dhoti and Uttareeyam, Rajinikanth went in a special queue line and offered prayers at the Moola Brindavan of Sri Raghavendra Swami, the saint who was the proponent of Dwaitha, the Madhva philosophy.
Superstar Rajinikanth reached Mantralayam from Bengaluru by car. He offered prayers in the temple of Sri Manchalamma, the village Goddess and then went to Sri Raghavendra Swami Mutt, in tune with an age-old practice. Later he took the blessings of the Mattadhipathi Sri Subhudendra Theerthulu.
The star arrived at Mantralayam Raghavendra Swamy Mutt this morning and spent about 45 minutes on the premises. He came alone, without any entourage, according to an insider. He said Rajinikant came without intimation and walked in the mutt complex like an ordinary devotee. Later the temple staff was alerted and they escorted him to His Holiness Subhudendra Swamy who blessed him. He was accorded temple honours by Sri Raghavendra Swami Mutt officer IP Narsimha and main priests. Apart from this, when information of his visit spread, a huge number of his fans rushed to the temple premises and some even took selfies with their favourite actor.
Actor donates Rs 10 crore
Rajinikanth has donated Rs 10 crore to the shrine of Sri Raghavendra in Mantralayam. According to the temple authorities, the old buildings in the rear of the Sarvagnya Mandir will be broken down and 25 fresh A/C cottages and 100 general rooms will be constructed, using the amount donated by the superstar.
