The RTC unions have started the agitation and issued a strike notice also to the management.

Hyderabad: The Congress has decided to support RTC unions’ agitation demanding the merger of the transport corporation into the government.

The RTC unions have started the agitation and issued a strike notice also to the management. The unions will start the agitation by conducting dharnas before RTC depots across the state on September 23 and 24. After that, they will go to strike at any moment.

Extending the support to RTC unions, Congress chief N. Uttam Kumar Reddy said the public transport is a mandatory public service in most countries. He said that there should not be a profit motive in public transport. He said Telangana Congress supports the TSRTC workers agitation and that RTC employees should be merged into government staff.
