Hyderabad: School transfers weak students

It was also known that some of the students were also demoted to the ninth standard and others transferred to Erramanzil Government School.

Hyderabad: About 30 students were given Transfer Certificates (TC) for ‘not performing well’ and ‘not being regular to classes’ from Rajbhavan School in the last couple of weeks.

It was also known that some of the students were also demoted to the ninth standard and others transferred to Erramanzil Government School.

According to sources, this was done to achieve 100 per cent results from the school and the students who got TC were seen as a ‘threat’ to the school's goal. It was also alleged that some of the students were forced to give a written letter accepting the TC, stating various reasons such as migration and family issues.

“Students and parents had requested the school authorities not to send them off, and only after some parents’ requests, some of them were given a ‘chance’ and demoted to the ninth standard and others transferred to other government scho-ols,” said a teacher from Rajbhavan school, on condition of anonymity.

When contacted, education department officials confirmed that they have also received a complaint from someone and they would be visiting the school on Monday for investigation.

The official added that, “Though the headmaster accepted that TCs were given, the number of students and the reasons for TCs have to be verified on Monday.”

When Deccan Chronicle tried contacting the school management, they were unavailable for comment.
