Punarjani revives facilities at government ayurveda medical college
Kochi: As part of the Punarjani’ project, initiated by Technical Cell of National Service Scheme, a group of NSS volunteers from Adi Sankara Engineering College, Kalady are reviving and improving the infra facilities at Government Ayurveda College, Tripunithura and the taluk hospital Tripunithura.
The volunteers have stared repairing medical equipments, wheel chairs, coats, chairs and tables and computers in the two hospitals. The team of youngsters is also doing electrical, plumbing and painting works. A team of 100 students, camping at Ayurv-eda medical college campus, are engaged in repairing works. Several equipments have already been repaired.
Tripunithura municipal chairperson Chandrika Devi inaugurated the camp on Friday. Punarjani has been designed to improve infra facilities in government hospitals and to avoid situation in which equipments have to be abandoned due to regular maintenance.
The state government has allocated budgetary provision to the Technical Education Department for the initiative considering the success of similar project taken up in previous years.
