CM asking people to revolt against our party is a serious offence and calls for criminal action'.

Bengaluru: Leaders of the state unit of Bharatiya Janata Party petitioned DG&IGP Neelamani Raju here on Friday and sought action against Chief Minister H.D.Kumaraswamy for calling upon the people to revolt against the party for its attempts to “destabilise’ his government. BJP leaders headed by senior party leaders, Govind Karjol, Shobha Karandlaje, and Aynoor Manjunath met Ms Raju and submitted a memorandum to her seeking suitable action against the Chief Minister for his remarks.

“The CM, who has taken an oath under the Constitution, is required to uphold it and the unity and integrity of the country. Calling on the people to revolt against the BJP is a serious offence and calls for criminal action against him,” the BJP leaders said in their memorandum, contending that Mr Kumaraswamy’s remark provoking people to revolt against their party constituted a serious offence under sections 121, 121A, 122, 123 and 124A of the IPC.

They alleged that JD(S) and Congress workers barged into the residence of their party state president B.S. Yeddyurappa soon after his call, and deplored that during their protest there no policemen were present to protect him and it was left to party MLAs to disperse the protesters. The BJP delegation included former minister C.M. Udasi, MLCs N. Ravikumar and Tejaswini Gowda and MLA Halappa.
