NGT hit out at Delhi government, civic bodies and other public authorities for making “unbelievable†claims.

New Delhi: The Supreme Court on Wednesday posted for hearing on September 26 a writ petition filed by a doctor for a direction to the Centre and Delhi government to take measures to control the spread of Chikungunya, a dreaded disease in the country in general and the capital in particular.

A Bench of Justices Anil R. Dave and L. Nageswara Rao posted the petition filed by Dr Anil Mittal who wanted the Delhi and Central government to be given instructions on how to deal with the crisis.

Meanwhile, the NGT hit out at Delhi government, civic bodies and other public authorities for making “unbelievable” claims and “vague statements” regarding steps to tackle diseases like dengue and chikungunya.
