The fines come into effect from Thursday, with the fine amount staying the same even as towing charges were trebled.

BENGALURU: In a bid to curb haphazard parking and ensure free flow of traffic on city roads, parking your vehicle in a ‘no parking’ zone will now burn a hole in your pockets. The fines come into effect from Thursday, with the fine amount staying the same even as towing charges were trebled.

In the case of four-wheelers, which include car and SUVs, the towing fine has been increased from Rs 450 to Rs 1,000; For heavy vehicles, buses and trucks, the towing fine will now be Rs 1,500. Private towing vehicle operators will be smiling all the way to the bank!
