Devotee seeks funds for Ram temple

The temple has unique significance as Lord Rama and his brother Lakshman had visited enroute Lanka for regaining Sitadevi.

Chennai: Sri Sita Rama Anjaneya Swamy temple, built about a 100 years ago, in Damalacheruvu a small town in Chittoor district of Andhra Pradesh is in dire need of funds for the temple extension project. Aiming to ensure the completion of the project, an ardent devotee M. Balachandar Raja, is visiting several places knocking at the doors of Rama Bhakthas for assistance.

“The temple has unique significance as Lord Rama and his brother Lakshman had visited enroute Lanka for regaining Sitadevi. Although the Sradda Trust is actively engaged in mobilising funds for the temple expansion work, they require huge sum to compete the project. Atleast, 600 cement bags are required. I am knocking at the doors of Rama bhakthas seeking their contribution. I am trying to do what little I can, like the squirrel which helped the Lord, in its own way, when He built the Ram Setu bridge,” says M. Balachandar Raja, the devotee. Mr Raja, an expert in Vastu Sastra, had formerly worked with the CPWD. He decided to dedicate his life to the service of the Lord.

Lord Rama majestically graces his devotees, at this temple, in standing posture with Sitadevi on his right and His brother Lakshman standing to His left. Lord Hanuman is depicted standing near Lakshman. “Several miracles took place at this temple,” Mr. Raja claims and asserts that a Muslim was so attracted to the temple that he donated his land to the Sradda Trust, which is maintaining the temple. “We need atleast Rs 70 to 80 lakhs to renovate the temple structure besides construct an auditorium for conducting free yoga classes besides performing rituals,”he said and appealed to philanthropists to liberally donate for a noble cause. For further details or donations contact: Damalacheruvu Reddappa Reddy, Hon.
