Sircilla SP gets break for a month

Central crime station SI Ravinder of Sircilla was placed under suspension in connection with the incident.

SIRCILLA: Sircilla Rajanna superintendent of police K. Vishwajit will be going to Ladakh in Jammu and Kashmir for a month from August 24 to participate in a police event to which he was nominated by the Union home ministry.

Mr Vishwajit has been accused by Dalit victims of torturing them in Nerella village of the district following the burning down of lorries allegedly belonging to the sand mafia.

Central crime station SI Ravinder of Sircilla was placed under suspension in connection with the incident.

The Opposition has demanded Mr Vishwajit’s suspension, an inquiry and punishment to the police personnel involved in the alleged torture.

TRS supporters and leaders are projecting this as a punishment for Mr Vishwajit. A police official, however, said this was in no way concerned with the Nerella incident and was a matter of routine in the police.

Kamalasan to be incharge SP
Opposition leaders said the state government was making futile efforts to impress upon the victims at Nerella that action was being taken against police personnel. They said Mr Vishwajit going away for a month was a measure to protect him.

A police press release said Mr Vishwajit had been was nominated by the home ministry for the annual visit of the police to hot springs in Ladakh for a period of one month from August 24. The orders were issued on July 3.

It said Karimnagar police commissioner V.B. Kamalasan Reddy would be the incharge SP of the district.
