TRS government does not have magic lamp, says KT Rama Rao

K.T. Rama Rao said the TRS government did not have the magic lamp of Alauddin to instantly solve the problems of Hyderabad.

Hyderabad: Municipal Administration and Urban Development minister K.T. Rama Rao said the TRS government did not have the magic lamp of Alauddin to instantly solve the problems of Hyderabad. The city is facing problems due to misrule by past governments, he said. He was addressing a meeting after laying the foundation stone of the one-km long Balanagar flyover on Monday evening. Unmindful of the damage done in the past, the Telangana government is working for the last three years to solve several issues, including power and water, Mr Rao said.

During summers Hyderabad residents used to face hardships with power cuts and drinking water woes, but after TRS government took over the situation has improved a lot, he added. “We are spending Rs 3,000 crore on roads and flyovers. There are proposals for another Rs 10,000 crore. The Metro Rail project second phase is also being discussed. In the next eight years Hyderabad will get a big makeover,” the minister stated.

Mr Rao said that if required the length of Balanagar flyover would be extended. KTR exuded confidence of the TRS posting a comfortable victory in the 2019 elections. The Balanagar flyover will ease traffic flow between Bowen-pally, Kukatpally, Bala-nagar, Jeedimetla and Balkampet, ministers Talasani Srinivas Yadav and Malkajgiri MP Malla Reddy said. HMDA commissioner T. Chiranjeevulu said they would try to complete the flyover in 18 to 20 months.
