De-casting: Mines officials gear up to issue show cause notice to Ganta Suresh
Vijayawada: The officials of the mines department are gearing up to serve show cause notices to the accused in connection with illegal sand de-casting at Lankapalli Lanka village in Pamidimukkala mandal, Krishna district. Illegal de-casting is liable for heavy penalty as several acts and sections of river conservancy, minor minerals and revenue, are violated. The officials, including the assistant director (mines) and assistant director-vigilance (mines), are eliciting the complete details of the violations, with the help of police and revenue departments.
When asked about the same, ACP-East V. Vijay Bhaskar said the police couldn't conduct the inquest on Monday as they were busy with some other work. It will be held on Tuesday and police will assist the tahsildar and mining department staff in it. Surprisingly, the inspector, Vuyyuru, had reportedly refused to take the complaints from the JE and DE of Krishna central division, river conservator's office, three days ago, following which they have forwarded the same to Vuyyuru police inspector by post, according to KC division's EE (River Conservancy) Ravi Babu. "We have given the details of all the flaws that occurred in Lankapalli Lanka village patta lands," he said.
Meanwhile, the accused in the case, Ganta Suresh failed to get any help from the influential people in protecting him as it means acting against the CM's directions. The TD public representatives also made it clear to Suresh that they would not interfere in the sand mafia activities. Meanwhile, AD (Mines) K. Subrahmanyeswara Rao told this correspondent that they would issue a show cause notice to the accused Ganta Suresh in a couple of days as the vigilance department is on the job of preparing the draft.
The ACP -East has already registered a case against Suresh for causing injury to the river and for doing mischief by lowering the value of the de-casted mud and sand, at Lankapalli Lanka village in Pamidimukkala Mandal. Cases have been booked under non-bailable sections IPC 427 and 431, ACP V. Vijay Bhaskar said. Other sections related to the AP River Conservation Act and Minor Mineral Concession rules have also been mentioned in the FIR.
