Hyderabad: A day after recovering a girl's body from a garbage dump at Medchal, the police established the identity of the victim and are questioning her father on suspicion that he could have committed the murder.
On Saturday, the body of a young girl packed in a gunny bag was found in the garbage dump at Kindibasthi in Medchal. The police along with the dog squad and Clues Team rushed to the spot and recovered the body.
During the inspection of the crime scene, the police found that the skin on the face of the deceased was peeled off and her eyes were removed. The body was sent to Gandhi Hospital mortuary immediately for post-mortem examination and a murder case was registered.
The special teams constituted to crack the case have identified the deceased as a resident of the same area. On the suspicion raised due to the inconsistent answers provided by her father, he was detained for questioning.
Meanwhile, reports emerged on Sunday that the suspect has confessed to committing the crime, but, the police did not confirm it and said that they were still in the process of investigation.
A senior police official from Cyberabad said, “The identity of the girl has been established. The girl's father is currently is being questioned on the suspicion of killing her, but the motive is yet to be ascertained.”
