Still, the situation was better when compared with last year when Srisailam had 19.32 tmc ft with the water standing at 777.10 feet and Nagarjunasagar 117.69 tmc ft at 501.50 feet. The farmers under these two major projects are pinning hopes on inflows.

The Tungabhadra dam released 69,451 cusecs, and some water from this will reach Srisailam. The Tungabhadra dam had 94.17 tmc ft of water against the full reservoir level of 100.86 tmc ft. On the Godavari basin, the Kaddam project was nearly full, with water standing at 697.65 feet (7 tmc ft) as against the full reservoir level of of 700 feet (7.6 tmc ft). The Yellampalli project had 12.77 tmc ft of water against a total capacity of 20.18 tmc ft.
