HMDA's 5-day ATCC trial run on 'Outer Ring Road' begins

The system would enable HMDA to probe data system in buses to help them generate live real-time understanding of road and traffic.

Hyderabad: In order to help commuters get the latest information about road and traffic conditions, reduce risk in transportation, traffic accidents and to enhance communication and to respond during emergencies, the Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA) has decided to have a five-day trial run on Automatic Traffic Counter-cum-Classifier (ATCC) system as a part of Intelligent Transport System (ITS) on the Outer Ring Road from Saturday.

The system would enable HMDA to probe data system in buses to help them generate live real-time understanding of road and traffic conditions on the ORR.

At present, the manual toll collection is under progress and HMDA/ Hyderabad Growth Corridor Limited (HGCL) has planned to set up ATTCC at all the 19 interchanges on the ORR. Trial run will be conducted for five days beginning from Saturday till July 25.
