Telangana to DEOs: Focus on school bags
Hyderabad: The state government has directed district education officers to inform headmasters of all schools — including both government and privately managed ones — about its guidelines on reduction of school bag load.
All the DEOs are directed to observe the implementation of the guidelines issued under GO 22 from August.
DEOs are also directed to conduct meeting with MEOs for primary schools, headmasters for high schools to discuss the guidelines for implementation without fail.
The government has also directed them to conduct orientation programmes for the managements of private schools, parents and SMCs on the guidelines for reducing the bag load and its implications to school managements and parents.
The school management committees should take stock of the implementation of the GO during school management committee inspections meetings.
“The district education officers will monitor the implementation of the guidelines in all types of schools and see that school bags are withing the weight norms as per the government orders. The state-level teams will be deployed to observe the implementation of guidelines on reducing the school bag load in all the schools,¸ the government said in its direction.
