Bachupally girl rescued from Mumbai

The CWC said the girl was still under the impression that she was a bad luck for her parents and her presence might harm them.

Hyderabad: The Class X girl from Bachupally who went missing more than a month ago and was rescued from Mumbai was handed over to her parents on Friday.

The Child Welfare Committee (CWC) of RR district after counselling the child gave her to her parents and issued orders to keep the girl under observation for a year. After the girl was traced to a childcare home in Mumbai, the police and her parents brought her to Hyderabad and produced her before CWC. However, after the girl refused to go back to her parents, she was shifted to a girls' home in Kacheguda, where she was counselled by CWC and experts. The CWC said the girl was still under the impression that she was a bad luck for her parents and her presence might harm them. Though she was reluctant, after counselling she agreed to go home.

The CWC told the parents to be soft on the child and to change her school. The CWC also asked the parents to appear before them along with the girl every month.
