RTC MD, N Sambasiva Rao to take over as head of Andhra Pradesh police

Mr Sambasiva Rao will be confirmed as DGP after the completion of the requisite process.

Hyderabad: The AP government on Thursday named APSRTC vice-chairman and managing director N. Sambasiva Rao as in-charge DGP after the retirement of Mr J.V. Ramudu.

Mr Sambasiva Rao, a 1984 batch IPS officer, is given in full additional charge to the post of Director General of Police until further orders, the government said,
Mr Sambasiva Rao will be confirmed as DGP after the completion of the requisite process.

AP Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu had previously decided to elevate Mr Sambasiva Rao as the new head of the police. The government notified the retirement of Mr Ramudu with effect from July 23 on superannuation.
