Hyderabad: The income-tax department on Thursday raided MLA Komatireddy Venkat Reddy’s brother Komati reddy Anil Kumar Reddy’s houses and offices.
An official told this newspapers that Mr Anil Reddy had not been filing I-T returns personally or on behalf of his companies.
“The teams were deployed in the early hours and we have seized some documents related to movable and immovable properties from Mr Anil Reddy’s residence at Jubilee Hills Road No. 79 and Nalgonda. We have seized some records from Kushi Infra and other offices in the two states,” the official said.
The raids would continue on Thursday night and on Friday morning. “We have not done the valuation and assessment yet. There will be clarity on the details of movable and immovable properties by Friday evening,” he said.
Mr Anil Reddy has a few businesses and contracts in both the Telugu states.
Meanwhile, following the raids, Mr Venkat Reddy, who was supposed to join the ruling TRS, has apparently dropped the idea.
Congress Rajya Sabha member Gutta Sukhender Reddy from the same district has joined the TRS, though not formally.
