WARANGAL: Education minister G. Jagadish Reddy was stuck for half an hour inside an elevator at the Kannepalli pump house on Friday. The incident took place after the inauguration of the Kaleshwaram project at Jayashankar Bhupalpally district.
The elevator was reportedly overloaded causing it to lockdown. The minister along with his security personnel, some of his followers and two women and a child went inside the Kannepalli pump house.
Thirteen people got into the lift which can carry only seven. The elevator took the passengers to the underground floor but got stuck on its way back to the ground level. It locked down just above the underground level.
Circle inspector Ranjith who was present there alerted electricians who tried in vain to restart the elevator. Finally, the glass panes on the sides of the cabin were broken and the passengers were rescued.
