Charminar police has filed a complaint against Madina Building tenants

Hyderabad: The Charminar police has registered a case against the tenants of Alladdin Mecca Madina Building for their failure to pay rents to the TS Wakf Board. The case was registered following a complaint lodged by the Wakf Board chief executive officer.

The Wakf Board in its complaint said there were over 500 tenants at the building located at Madina crossroads near Charminar in the Old City. “The Wakf Board stated that the tenants despite being issued notices were not paying rent,” said Charimar inspector K. Chandrasekhar Reddy.

The board alleged that the tenants were not having documents with them and had encroached on the properties of the board. The police registered a case under the Wakf Board Act and said it would start investigatoins.

The Wakf Board authorities had recently filed a complaint at the Mailardevpally police station against a few persons who had encroac-hed upon land attached to the Takiya Moghal Fakeer Shah, a graveyard at Shamshergunj in the Old City.

The complaint was lodged after a team of Wakf Board officials who had visited the spot found that some persons were razing the graveyard to start illegal private constructions over the Wakf land.
