Hyderabad: Microsoft India is encouraging girls to explore computer science as a employment opportunity as part of its efforts to empower girls with technology and build greater diversity and promote gender equality in the IT sector.

Accordingly, a workshop is being conducted in its office at Gachibowli for undergraduate students pursuing non-engineering courses. This #shedevelopstech workshop is aimed at helping girls develop computational thinking – an essential life skill — and become equipped with knowledge of computers and coding, further enhancing their career prospects in the ICT industry.

Girls will start with developing the logic behind the proposed solution and will be formulating the final workflow for it. Ms Ashrafe, a B.Sc (Life Sciences) student of St. Joseph’s College, Kurnool stated that she got to know about logical thinking and technology, which she felt would be useful to her in data collection.
