CAT notice to UPSC on IAS officer's plea

The petitioner told the bench that she joined the AP state service in December 1990 after being selected as a Group-1 officer.

Hyderabad: The Hyderabad bench of the Central Administrative Tribunal has issued a notice to the Union Public Service Commission seeking its response to a petition by Telangana state home secretary Anita Rajendra, IAS, challenging the inaction of the UPSC authorities in rectifying the anomalies with regard to her seniority.

The petitioner told the bench that she joined the AP state service in December 1990 after being selected as a Group-1 officer.

She submitted that she was placed under suspension on February 5, 1997 when she was a revenue divisional officer in Visakhapatnam district for her alleged role in the Yeleru scam.

She stated that she was in reinstated in June 1999 following a direction from the AP Administrative Tribunal. She submitted that though she was conferred IAS in 2000, she was shown as an officer belonging to 2002 panel year.

She urged the tribunal to bring her on par with her colleagues who joined the service along with her or a year later.
