PSLV-C46 set for launch

The launch is scheduled at 5.30 am IST on May 22, 2019.

Nellore: The countdown for the launch of PSLV-C46/ RISAT-2B mission commenced on Tuesday at 4.30 am from Satish Dhawan Space Centre (SDSC) SHAR, Sriharikota. The launch is scheduled at 5.30 am IST on May 22, 2019.

PSLV-C46 will carry the RISAT-2 B, an advanced radar imaging satellite on board and inject it into an orbit of 555 km at an inclination of 37 degrees. Radar imaging satellites have been designed to provide a continuous view of earth either day or night and even during bad weather for the benefit of forces to detect border infiltration. According to ISRO scientists, RISAT-2BR1 would further improve country’s imaging reconnaissance abilities.
