Homage to Rajiv Gandhi: P Chidambaram leads march in Tiruchy

Mr. Chidambaram administered the anti-terrorism pledge to the party men.

Tiruchy: In a moving tribute, Congressmen led by the former Union Minister P. Chidambaram took out a silent procession at Tiruchy on Tuesday to commemorate the 28th death anniversary of former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi.

The silent march commenced at Arunachala Mandram, the party’s district headquarters and after passing through important thorough fares culminated at Marakkadai area, where Mr. Chidambaram administered the anti-terrorism pledge to the party men.

Among several others, Tiruchy urban district Congress president Jawahar, party’s state spokesperson, the irrepressible E. Velusamy, AICC member Joseph Louis and party’s state vice president Mrs. Sujatha participated in the procession. All the participants took pledge.
